Iowa State is a special team in the Big 12 and we expect them to have great wins in the incoming season. So it’s a particulary pleasure the interview we could made to Melvin Ejim, as a leader in the team, for our special readers.

Please, tell us something about your experience at Iowa State ?

The things I like most about playing basketball at Iowa state would have to be the teammates I’ve had, the great support of the fans and Hilton Magic.

Please, tell to our readers something about your passion for basketball ?

When I found myself playing basketball in college, in the United States, I realized I loved basketball because it had taken me to so many different places and created so many opportunities on and off the court.

Could you tell something about yours (Cyclones) greats fans ?

Cyclone Nation is one of the best fan bases in college basketball. I think the proof is in our attendance numbers and the sold out games we have on a regular basis.

Which of your teammates in your opinion can have a stellar season and could you tell us something about the incoming former Marshall guard DeAndre Kane?

There are a lot of people on our team I expect to step up. From Matt Thomas to Naz Long and Dustin Hogue as well as another great season from Georges Niang. I also think DeAndre Kane will add toughness, talent and highlight plays with his ability to score and pass the ball.

Last year the team did a great job and had the best efficiency offense in the Big 12 for example. In the incoming season, in which aspect do you think the team needs to improve to compete until the end with Kansas and Oklahoma State?

Because we have a different team we are going to have new strengths. I think we will still shoot the ball but anticipate more baskets being scored on the inside.

We love coach’s Hoiberg’s work there. In training, does he pushes the team in something in particular?

Coach Fred does a great job of promoting confidence with in his players, allowing guys to play freely within the system. I think one thing he enjoys is helping players improve with their jump shot. He takes time to work with each player on their mechanics and improving their jump shot.

Note: A special thanks to Mr.Matt Shoultz, Assistant Director of Athletics Communications at Iowa State, for his kind support in this interview, and to Melvin for the time he dedicate us.
